Hudson's Bay Co. Appoints New CEO

Richard Baker, governor of Toronto-based Hudson's Bay Co., which is being acquired by Purchase, N.Y.-based NRDC Equity Partners LLC, announced that Jeffrey Sherman will be appointed as CEO of the company. Sherman joins Hudson's Bay Co. from the Polo Ralph Lauren Corp., where he held the position of president and COO, Polo Retail Group. At Polo Retail Group, Sherman was responsible for overseeing operations of the company's global-owned retail stores in the United States, Europe and Asia, the global Polo outlet division, Rugby, Club Monaco and Ralphlauren.com. Sherman has also served as CEO of The Limited stores and as president and COO of Bloomingdale's. Sherman will be responsible for all of the Hudson's Bay Co. banners in Canada--The Bay, Zellers, Home Outfitters and Fields.
