Santa Monica Place, the mall being rebuilt at the end of the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, Calif., has added 14 new tenants to its existing line-up of retailers, according to Surfsantamonica.com. Scheduled to open on Aug. 6, the 550,000-sq.-ft. mall has added Betsey Johnson, Barneys Co-Op, White House Black Market, Johnny Was, Pandora, L'Occitane, Bird Pick Tea & Herb, Chilli Beans, Tous, Sea of Silver, Foreign Exchange, Kensington Luggage, GNC and Love Culture. Santa Monica Place developer Macerich had previously announced Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom as the center's anchor stores, with other tenants including Nike, CB2 and Burberry. The new design features a round, open-air plaza with wide passageways that connect the mall to the Promenade to the north and the Civic Center to the south.
