American Apparel Launches Selfridges London In-Store Shop
April 26, 2010
Los Angeles-based American Apparel has opened a shop-in-shop on the ground floor of Selfridges, one of London's most well-known department stores. The 700-sq.-ft. store is the first and only permanent American Apparel in-store shop, and will be designed to highlight the company's latest women's styles. The company has curated about 100 Made in USA styles for this one-of-a-kin store, which marks American Apparel's eighth retail location in London. "We jumped at this opportunity for a unique position at such an important department store," said Jan Willem Hubner, an American Apparel operations manager for Europe. "The experience of shopping in this classic, yet contemporary space is one that reflects well upon our clothes and on the company's reputation as a retailer." American Apparel operates approximately 280 retail stores in 20 countries.
