Intermix Expands into North Carolina
May 09, 2008

New York-based specialty retailer Intermix officially opened its doors at SouthPark in Charlotte, N.C., today. The 2,500-sq.-ft. store is located in the Nordstrom wing at SouthPark. Intermix sells designer collections, luxury handbags, jewelry, footwear, denim and contemporary pieces from designers such as Stella McCartney, Chloe, Jay Godfrey, J Brand, Herve Leger, Elizabeth and James, Brian Atwood, Diane von Furstenberg, Sergio Rossi, Giuseppe Zanotti and Madison Marcus. In addition, Intermix always emphasizes store design as a major element of the total shopping experience. Designed by New York-based architectural firm L.E.FT, the boutique integrates curved lines and feminine shapes into the layout. The design concept is "forward thinking, reinterpreting standard fixtures to invite the excitement of the fashion world into the retail setting." Over the past five years, Intermix has been in a stage of rapid growth, opening boutiques in strategic cities. In March, Intermix announced the opening of four new stores, including its location at SouthPark, by the end of spring 2008. Expanding into both new and existing markets, Intermix will increase its national reach from 20 to 24 stores. Starting with East Hampton, boutiques are set to open also in Chicago and Orlando, Fla. Intermix operates stores in cities including Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Boston; Chicago; Dallas; Los Angeles; New York; and throughout the state of Florida.
