Urban Outfitters to Launch New Wedding Brand
March 08, 2010
Philadelphia-based Urban Outfitters Inc. announced plans to launch a new retail brand targeting the $60 billion wedding industry next year, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer. The new wedding brand, whose name has not yet been revealed, is expected to launch online by Valentine's Day 2011, followed by a bricks-and-mortar store later. "We think this is going to be a meaningful business," said Glen T. Senk, CEO of the company, adding that the idea "grew out of the company's existing business, which often catered to brides and their entourages," the paper reported. The wedding brand will feature heirloom gowns, accessories, intimate apparel, decor and gifts.
