American Eagle to Expand in Middle East

Pittsburgh-based American Eagle Outfitters Inc. announced the opening of its first international locations outside of North America. A 9,400-sq.-ft. store will open in Dubai on March 16, 2010 in the Mirdiff City Centre, while an 8,500 sq.-ft. store will open in Kuwait City on March 25, 2010 at the Avenues Mall. The Middle East launch is part of an agreement with M.H. Alshaya Co. to open several American Eagle stores in international markets. The new stores will feature the traditional American Eagle wares, in addition to the latest aerie collection, loungewear and intimates by AEO. The company operates 938 stores throughout the United States and Canada.
