DDI Video Exclusive: Me-Ality Kiosk
December 01, 2011
Canada-based Unique Solutions Ltd. recently developed and debuted the Me-Ality—Measured Reality—kiosk inside North Point Mall in Alpharetta, Ga. The technology enables consumers to find their best fit, with its free, fully-clothed, 10-second body scan. The body scanning booth sends and receives safe, low-power radio waves and records 200,000 data points by bouncing these signals off the skin of a fully clothed consumer. Me-Ality then compares body measurements to garment sizing specifications. The company plans to expand the Me-Ality kiosks across the country in 2011, with additional locations in the Atlanta area, as well as kiosk openings in major malls in Dallas, Phoenix, Chicago, New Jersey, New York, Boston and Southern California. Over the next two or more years, Me-Ality kiosks will be in more than 300 malls across the United States. Check out this video of DDI Executive Editor Alison Embrey Medina testing the Me-Ality kiosk at North Point Mall.
