7-Eleven Acquires 143 New Locations in Texas

Dallas-based 7-Eleven Inc. continues its Texas expansion with the acquisition of 143 new locations from C. L. Thomas Inc. The acquisition, which closed Dec. 31, includes Speedy Stop and Tigermarket retail locations, and increases 7-Eleven’s footprint in San Antonio, where it also recently purchased 25 stores as part of an acquisition from TETCO Inc. The company plans to remodel and rebrand a significant number of the locations in 2013, with a focus on expanding its fresh and hot food offering. Currently, 7-Eleven operates, franchises or licenses more than 9,500 stores in North America.
