7-Eleven to Pass 50,000-Store Mark

By the end of first-quarter 2013, Dallas-based 7-Eleven Inc. expects to operate more than 50,000 stores worldwide. The company achieved record store growth in 2012, adding nearly 5,000 stores to its worldwide portfolio, including 1,000 in the United States and Canada. Its U.S. growth strategy is to continue to build market concentration in metropolitan areas. Currently, 7-Eleven operates, franchises and licenses more than 10,000 stores in North America and more than 39,000 stores in Europe, Australia and Asia.
