99 Cents Only to Open Beverly Hills Location

Commerce, Calif.-based discount chain 99 Cents Only Stores Inc. plans to open a flagship store in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Times. The retailer recently announced that it is looking for real estate on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The decision to open the new flagship follows the success of the retailer’s store on Wilshire Boulevard near Beverly Hills. The retailer also recently opened a location on Santa Barbara’s State Street. The company, which was acquired last year by Los Angeles-based private-equity firm Ares Management and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, operates about 300 stores in California, Texas, Arizona and Nevada.
