ALDO Unveils New LOCALE Concept
September 02, 2010
Montreal-based footwear and accessories retailer ALDO Group has unveiled its new retail concept, LOCALE, in six stores in Canada. ALDO Group commissioned New York-based Pompei A.D. to create all aspects of the LOCALE brand, including the name, logo, brand aesthetic, packaging, website, signage and store design, which features art collaborations with local galleries, original works on display and an open storefront comparable to that of a local café. “The LOCALE brand is inspired by popular neighborhood places, such as galleries, cafés and other cultural and social hangouts, resulting in a unique shopping experience that is relevant, authentic and intimate to the customer,” said Bart Higgins, executive director of brand and strategy at Pompei A.D. LOCALE primarily will sell shoes, handbags and other accessories, aimed at men and women ages 28-40. ALDO Group currently operates under eight distinct brands, in more than 55 countries around the world.
