Ace Hardware Introduces Express Format

Oak Brook, Ill.-based Ace Hardware has launched a new small-format version of its stores in nearly 400 locations, according to the Chicago Tribune. The new format averages 5,000 sq. ft. and carries more than 11,000 Ace Hardware products. The company’s intention is to reach new urban and rural markets by operating “Express” stores in existing grocery and paint stores. Currently, the company operates more than 4,600 stores.
