Badgley Mischka Opens First New York Store
August 26, 2013
Badgely Mischka has opened its first-ever New York store, according to www.wwd.com. Located in a townhouse at 24 E. 64th St., the 3,500-sq.-ft. store boasts a relaxed, elegant feel. Working with architect Patrick Gerard Carmody, the designers transformed the store into an open, light-filled space with light hardwood floors made from reclaimed wood from barns in Kentucky and Tennessee. Furnishings are minimal, mostly black, marble and gold from John Derian, with a few antiques, including an oversized Austrian mirror in the back room. Badgley Mischka opened a flagship in Los Angeles in 2011. The label also has 18 stores in China and plans to have 30 by the end of this year. They also have plans to open in Houston and possibly Bal Harbour, Fla.
