Richfield, Minn-based Best Buy Co. Inc. reportedly plans to eliminate about 2,400 jobs, according to Reuters.com. The cuts, which include 600 of its Geek Squad employees, represent 1.4 percent of the company's 167,000 workforce and come on top of jobs losses associated with 50 store closings that were announced in March, said company spokesman Bruce Hight. Following almost two years of quarterly declines, the electronics retailer is struggling to remain relevant to today's consumers and will unveil plans for its strategy later this summer, according to Interim CEO Mike Mikan.
