Miami-based Burger King Worldwide Holdings Inc. will open 1,000 restaurants in China over the next five to seven years. The planned openings are part of a new joint venture with the Kudoglu family, a long-time master franchisee, and global private-equity firm Cartesian Capital Group. This deal represents the largest multiunit development agreement in the brand’s history. Currently, there are more than 12,500 Burger King locations in 82 countries and territories worldwide.
