Claire’s Opens Dominican Republic Store

Chicago-based teen jewelry and accessories retailer Claire’s Stores Inc. has opened its first store in the Dominican Republic. The store is located in the Agora Mall in Santo Domingo, and is the first of its kind in the country. Through its partnership with Panama-based franchisee Grupo David, Claire’s Stores Inc. expects to open a minimum of 100 stores in Latin America. Through its two store concepts, Claire’s and Icing, the Claire’s Stores Inc. operates 3,074 locations in North America and Europe, and 376 franchised or licensed stores in Japan, the Middle East, Turkey, Greece, Guatemala, Malta, Ukraine, Mexico and India.
