Duane Reade to Open New York Flagship

New York-based Duane Reade will open a 22,000-sq.-ft. New York City flagship at 40 Wall St. Operating under the vision “New York Living Made Easy,” the drugstore will offer a sushi bar, a smoothie counter, a Starbucks coffee counter, a selection of fruit, vegetables and sandwiches and a cell phone charging station, all of which have never been featured in a Duane Reade before. The store will also feature the “Virtual Assistant,” created with holographic imaging and audio-visual technology. The new flagship is scheduled to open July 6, 2011. Currently, Duane Reade operates more than 7,700 stores nationwide.
