Fry's Opens Arizona Flagship Store
September 03, 2010
Fry's Food Stores, a division of Cincinnati-based The Kroger Co., has announced the opening of its Signature Marketplace superstore in Phoenix, according to The Arizona Republic. This new, upscale store is aimed at the more affluent shopper and features valet parking, custom car washes, a cooking school, wine bar and expanded selections of organic produce and high-end meats. Known for its low prices, the Arizona-based supermarket chain hopes that the new store will help reposition the brand as more than just a low-price leader. Although the store will offer an expanded line of high-end goods, the majority of the products will be priced the same as at other Fry's locations. The remodeled, 136,000-sq.-ft. location offers services, products and features not available at any of Fry's 121 other supermarkets in Arizona.
