Gap Opens First Outlet Stores in China

San Francisco-based Gap Inc. plans to open four Gap Outlet stores in China. The store openings are part of the company’s global growth strategy to have approximately 45 stores in China by the end of this fiscal year. The first outlet store opened on Sept. 22 in the Ningbo Outlet Mall. The remaining stores will open at Qingpu Bailian Outlet in Shanghai; Jingjin Florentia Village in Tianjin; and Scitech Premium Outlets in the Beijing area. With the openings in China, Gap now operates outlet stores in six countries.
