Gap Opens First Store in Mexico

San Francisco-based Gap Inc. announced the opening of its first standalone store in Mexico. The 10,000-sq.-ft. store will open in Interlomas Mall located outside of Mexico City, and will house the company’s GapKids, babyGap and Gap collections. Gap Inc. also plans to expand in Columbia and Uruguay within the year. Currently, Gap has about 3,000 company-operated stores and 250 franchises across 90 countries.
