Austin, Texas-based Golfsmith International Holdings Inc. plans to open 10 new stores and relocate four existing stores in fiscal 2012. The openings and relocations combined will result in a 17.5 percent increase in square footage. The new store locations are planned for Cleveland; two stores in metro-Washington, D.C.; Chattanooga and Nashville, Tenn.; Atlanta; Baltimore; Christiana, Del.; and San Antonio. The stores slated for relocation will move into spaces that provide an updated and expanded golf retail experience that mirrors the company's new stores. All scheduled store openings and relocations will be complete by the end of 2012. All of the new Golfsmith locations will feature driving ranges or simulators that allow customers to test drive the latest golf clubs, as well as free custom-fitting services. Currently, the company operates 79 stores across the United States.
