Hermès will open a newly renovated Beverly Hills, Calif., flagship in September, according to www.wwd.com. The first of three planned U.S. retail projects, the newly renovated flagship will boast twice the amount of selling space as the luxury brand’s former Beverly Hills location. Unlike Hermès’ typical French stone façade, the new 12,000-sq.-ft. store will feature a Carrera marble façade. Other planned stores include a 4,100-sq.-ft. unit at the Buckhead Atlanta, a project that was originally scheduled to open in 2009 under the name Streets of Buckhead, but was halted as a result of the recession. Additionally, a 12,000-sq.-ft. flagship will open in fall 2014 in Miami’s Design District, where Hermès is building a three-story unit. Currently, Hermès operates 27 U.S. stores, with plans to continue to expand in existing markets, such as Dallas, Houston, Boston and Seattle in the future.
