Plano, Texas-based J.C. Penney Co. Inc. will debut Disney children’s boutiques in at least 520 stores next fall, according to www.wwd.com. The shops, which will range in size from 750 sq. ft. to 1,100 sq. ft., will feature a video wall “mini-theater” and costumed associates will occasionally hype new products and films. The products sold at the new in-store shops will be designed and sourced exclusively for JCPenney by Disney Consumer Products, and will include costumes, plush toys, figurines, footwear, sleepwear, underwear, backpacks, lunch totes and apparel for boys, girls and babies.
