JCPenney to Introduce Mobile Checkout Devices

Plano, Texas-based J.C. Penney Co. Inc. will replace cash registers with mobile checkout devices by 2013, according to Mobile Commerce Daily. The company said that by Feb. 1, 2013, its entire platform will operate on a 100 percent RFID system with ticketing. JCPenney also is implementing self-checkout kiosks. Part of the company’s efforts to focus on the customer experience, the new planned enhancements will allow consumers to check out anywhere and anytime.
