Jo-Ann Stores Releases Openings, Closings, Remodel Results

Hudson, Ohio-based Jo-Ann Stores Inc. released its store openings, closings and remodel results for the second quarter ending July 31, 2010. For the quarter, the company opened two large-format and two small-format stores and closed two small-format locations. For the fiscal 2011 year-to-date, Jo-Ann Stores opened four large-format and 10 small-format stores, while closing eight small-format locations. For the full fiscal 2011 year, the company expects to open roughly 30 new locations and close 25 stores. In addition, the company remodeled 16 stores, of which one became a large-format from a previous small-format layout. Remodels for the year-to-date include 28 locations, with one transitioning from a small to large-format layout. For the entire year, the company anticipates remodeling 40 stores and for fiscal 2012, the company expects to open 50 new stores and remodel 50 locations. Jo-Ann Stores operates approximately 745 locations in 48 states.
