French luxury retailer Longchamp will open a store in Hong Kong on Oct. 17, according to www.wwd.com. The three-level, 5,000-sq.-ft. store will be located on Canton Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. Designed by architect Eric Carlson from the French agency Carbondale, the new store features a glass and gold filament storefront that lights up at night. Women’s handbags, apparel and shoes are housed on the first and second floors, while the men’s and travel bags are housed on the third floor. Currently, Longchamp operates 14 stores in nine cities in China, and plans to open a new store in Kunming soon.
