MAX & JILL, a new American fashion and home department store, opened its first location in Whitehall, Pa., on Sept. 1. "In these unstable economic times, we offer consumers the most affordable prices for the latest fashion. We simply sell products at the lowest price possible and offer fun shopping incentives, such as sprees, merchandise giveaways and special timely discounts," a company spokesperson said. At the Whitehall store grand opening, shoppers will enjoy an additional 20 percent off of already reduced merchandise for the first 10 days, and the first 200 shoppers can enter to win a complimentary iPad. The company plans to open additional locations in Willow Grove, Pa.; Holmdel, N.J.; and Levittown, N.Y., by October.
