MOM's Organic Market Opens in Virginia

Rockville, Md.-based MOM’s Organic Market is opening a new store in Fairfax, Va., on Sept. 14. Constructed as a green market, the store design uses renewable building materials, low-VOC paint, LED bulbs and energy-efficient, closed-door coolers. The market is also entirely wind-powered and has recycling stations for CFL bulbs and batteries, and a water bottle refill station. Inside the market, organic food is also served at the Naked Lunch Kitchen. Currently, MOM’s Organic Market operates nine stores in the northeast, with a future store planned for Maryland.
