Macy’s Herald Square Unveils Portion of Revamped Shoe Floor

Cincinnati-based Macy’s Inc. has opened a major portion of the redesigned shoe floor at its Herald Square flagship in New York, according to www.wwd.com. Dubbed “the world’s largest” shoe floor, the revamped section of the store is part of a top-to-bottom, $400 million overhaul of the 2-million-sq.-ft. store. The women’s shoe section alone will boast 39,000 sq. ft. of space. When complete, the shoe section will encompass 280,000 pairs of shoes, representing a 50 percent increase in product.
