Macy's to Debut New Beauty Concept
September 10, 2010
Cincinnati-based Macy's Inc. will unveil its new beauty concept—Impulse Beauty—in 54 Macy's stores across the country by October 2010. The 1,000-sq.-ft. space will sell niche beauty brands aimed to complement the traditional beauty counters and offer customers the opportunity to browse on their own, seeking assistance as needed. Each Impulse Beauty shop will include product offerings that have been tailored to reflect the local customers' needs. The company also plans to open Impulse Beauty in an additional 50 Macy's stores in 2011. "Impulse Beauty is a beauty destination geared towards a trend-wise customer," said Muriel Gonzalez, executive vice president and general manager for cosmetics, fragrance and shoes for Macy's Inc. "The new collection of fresh, contemporary niche brands, which are not traditionally associated with department stores, along with our established beauty counters, provide Macy's customers with a wide assortment of product to choose from for all of their beauty needs."
