Staff USA Inc., a division of Italian retail conglomerate Staff International SpA, has opened its first-ever freestanding MM6 Maison Martin Margiela store in New York, according to www.wwd.com. Located at 363 Bleecker St., the 500-sq.-ft. shop is four blocks away from the Maison Martin Margiela collection store on Greenwich Street. The MM6 line includes women’s apparel, shoes and accessories priced at about 40 percent lower than the Maison Martin Margiela designer line. Designed by the company’s in-house team, the storefront features a window that houses a mirrored, neon light installation, and a similar mirror arrangement envelops the changing room. The interior design also includes a tin ceiling and a moquette carpet that resembles a city sidewalk. The company plans to open a second MM6 store in Paris by the end of the year.
