Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald’s Corp. plans to ramp up its expansion in Canada, according to The Windsor Star. The company will open around 30 new stores by the end of 2012, and plans for continued growth in the coming years. This announcement follows five years of relatively slow growth in the country. Additionally, beginning Nov. 5, the chain will sell take-home bags of ground coffee bearing the McCafé brand at its Canadian units. Currently, McDonald’s operates about 1,400 restaurants in Canada.
