Meijer Introduces Digital Coupon Program
August 31, 2010
Grand Rapids, Mich.-based grocery retailer Meijer has rolled out a new digital coupon program called mPerks, allowing shoppers to preview and select product coupons that are then stored in their personal mPerks account. When customers are ready to check out, the pre-selected coupons are redeemed instantly after shoppers code in their mobile phone number. "No more clipping or printing of coupons. This is a faster and easier way to save money right at the register,” said Frank Guglielmi, director of public relations for Meijer. After a digital coupon is selected on the mPerks microsite, it will remain in the customer’s personal account until it is redeemed or has expired. Customers can sign up for the program at Mperks.meijer.com. In an effort to promote enrollment, Meijer is offering customers who sign up a $2 electronic coupon, which may be used toward their first purchase through Sept. 18.
