English brand Mulberry Group plc opened its first U.S. store outside of New York and New Jersey in San Francisco, according to www.wwd.com. The 3,100-sq.-ft. store is located at 166 Grant Ave. in the Union District. The store design follows a prototype that London-based architecture and interior design firm Universal Design Studio developed for Mulberry flagships in London and New York, with dark wood flooring and brass finishings. The store is one of 20 global stores the brand plans to open this year. Mulberry will open another U.S. store in Tysons Corner, Va., in the winter, and is looking to open two to four additional West Coast stores within the next few years.
