Natural Grocers Plans to Open Seven New Stores

Lakewood, Colo.-based Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage recently announced plans to open seven new stores by March 2013. The markets will be opened during the next six months in Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Nebraska and Texas. Adhering to green standards, the Natural Grocers stores will utilize energy-efficient features, such as motion light sensors, 100 percent post-consumer content tiles, polished concrete flooring and commercial-grade LED lights. In addition to the large shopping area, the new stores will also have meeting spaces, demo kitchens and community rooms. A recent expansion of the Denver flagship produced a modern, stylish feel that will be emulated in future market designs. Natural Grocers operates 64 stores across 12 states.
