New York & Co. Announces Leadership Succession Plan

Specialty apparel chain New York & Co. Inc. announced that its Chairman and CEO Richard P. Crystal intends to retire from the company and its board of directors when his employment agreement expires on Feb.11, 2011. Crystal was named president and CEO of New York & Co. in 1996 and became chairman in 2004. As part of the board's leadership succession planning efforts, Gregory Scott has been appointed president of New York & Co., effective June 1, 2010. After he commences his employment with the company, Scott will also join the board. He will assume the role of CEO upon Crystal's retirement next year. Most recently, Scott served as CEO of Bebe Stores. He has also held positions at Wet Seal Inc., Ann Taylor Stores, Henri Bendel and the former Federated Department Stores Inc.
