Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. plans to open new stores in Chicago and Jacksonville, Fla. The 36,500-sq.-ft. Chicago store is slated to open in 2014. It will be located at a new 23,000-sq.-ft. development called The Maxwell in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood. Currently, Nordstrom operates four full-line and seven Rack stores in the Chicago area. The 35,000-sq.-ft. Florida store is scheduled to open in fall 2013. The store will be located at The Markets at Town Center in Jacksonville. Currently, Nordstrom operates nine full-line stores and eight Rack stores throughout Florida.
