Office Depot Expands Small-Format Concept

Boca Raton, Fla.-based Office Depot Inc. has remodeled its downtown Portland, Ore., store to reflect a smaller footprint and an environmentally friendly design. As part of the company’s effort to improve the customer shopping experience, Office Depot has been rolling out smaller store formats across the United States. The newly downsized Portland store—one of the larger formats when it opened 13 years ago—is the first in the Pacific Northwest to feature the new design. Green building elements include energy-saving lights and reflectors, daylight and occupancy sensors, recycled content-carpet and more.
