Publix Debuts in North Carolina

Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix Super Markets Inc. has signed a lease for a store in the greater-Charlotte, N.C., area. The store, located in Ballantyne, will be part of a new division based in Charlotte. The opening is tentatively planned for early 2014. The company plans for continued growth within the state, as well as in its current operating areas of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee.
