RadioShack Opens Two New York Stores
October 08, 2013
Fort Worth, Texas-based RadioShack is opening two new stores in New York. The first opened on Oct. 5 at 205 W. 23rd St., and the second will open on Oct. 12 at 2812 Broadway. Both stores have been remodeled in RadioShack’s new concept store format, which incorporates a speaker wall and other interactive areas designed to help shoppers improve their technology profile. Additional features include: newly configured displays highlighting in-demand brands; store fixtures that enable shoppers to find and compare products; and touchscreens and apps that help shoppers understand the products. RadioShack is opening a select number of these high-touch stores in high-traffic, high-profile locations. With the addition of these two New York locations, RadioShack has three new locations in Manhattan, where the first of these concept stores debuted in July at 2268 Broadway. The retailer also has opened locations in Jersey City, N.J., and in Southampton on Long Island. The company plans to open or remodel a number of additional New York-area locations by the end of the year.
