Staples Announces Strategic Growth Plan

Framingham, Mass.-based Staples Inc. recently announced a strategic growth plan, involving 60 store closures. The company is accelerating the closure of 15 U.S. stores and 45 stores in Europe, as well as relocating and downsizing another 30 locations. The company also announced plans to better integrate its retail and online offering, increase investment in its online businesses, implement leadership changes and restructure its international operations. Currently, Staples operates in 26 countries throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
