Swatch Group Acquires Harry Winston

Biel, Switzerland-based Swatch Group AG has agreed to purchase the Toronto-based Harry Winston watch and jewelry unit for about $1 billion, according to Bloomberg. Harry Winston joins Swatch Group’s range of 18 brands, which include Breguet, Omega and Tissot. Following the completion of the acquisition, Harry Winston Diamond will be known as Dominion Diamond Corp. and will focus on its diamond-mining operations.
