Cary, N.C.-based The Pantry Inc. plans to remodel 10 percent of its store portfolio, or approximately 160 locations, annually. The remodeling program will be store specific, with distinct demographic types. The goal of the remodels will be to improve its merchandise and foodservice programs, including the addition of more quick-service restaurants (QSR). The Pantry has 227 QSRs operating in its stores, 138 of which are Subway locations. Currently, The Pantry operates 1,589 locations.
